Now that Spring has arrived, what has become a yearly rite of passage for North Hunterdon High School seniors has begun. The game, which is known as Water Wars, is essentially a large water gun fight between teams. It has been explained that students will often wear ski masks or other disguises to surprise an opposing team. These activities often take place at odd hours, as they are not permitted on school grounds. While neither the school district nor Clinton Township Police endorse this event in any way, we do want to make community members aware of it.

We ask the parents of our seniors to have a conversation with them about driving safely, having clearly distinguishable water guns and under no circumstances, run from our officers if they encounter them. Any student participating in Water Wars on school grounds will be addressed in accordance with the NHHS student code of conduct. Additionally, any student violating any state laws and/or local ordinances will be held accountable by the Clinton Township Police Department. As always the safety of our students and community as a whole remains our top priority and we want people to understand this is going on to prevent any unintended consequences.

We look forward to your cooperation as we work to continue ensuring the safety of our students and our community.
