On behalf of the Clinton Township Police Department, I am pleased to welcome you to our community. It is my distinct honor and pleasure to lead the talented men and women of this agency. Together we are committed and enthusiastic to serve and protect our citizens.

The Clinton Township Police Department was established in 1962, in response to the needs of a growing community; a community faced with many new challenges that required the enforcement of state laws, local ordinances, and service to the community. Once established, the Department developed standards of conduct, which have become the core principles of our mission (https://www.ctpd.org/index.php/mission-and-values/). While the core of these standards remains unchanged, the Department has evolved over the years, having realized our ability to be effective relies heavily on good communication and positive relationships with our community. As a result, we employ the principles of community policing and collaborative problem solving to our evolving community. We continue to strive to embrace new ways to partner with citizens, business owners, schools and other stake-holders, in a continuing effort to improve the quality of life in Clinton Township.

Our recruiting efforts, hiring standards and field training program remain among the most selective in Hunterdon County. This ensures our officers are among the best-trained, highly-educated and motivated police officers in New Jersey. We have created a healthy and desirable work environment for our officers, which in turn produces officers dedicated to making Clinton Township a safe place to live, work and visit.

It is our promise to the citizens of Clinton Township that we, the members of the Clinton Township Police Department, will provide police services to our community at the highest level of professionalism and integrity. We will always strive to strengthen the bond of our police-community partnership.

Respectfully,

Chief Thomas A. DeRosa
