MEDIA RELEASE – January 21, 2026
On 12/16/25, the Clinton Township Police Department arrested two motorists following a road rage incident on Route 31 and Regional Road. An officer responded to a reported motor vehicle crash. Further investigation revealed the male drivers of two motor vehicles were involved in a road rage incident which resulted in a physical altercation. Police charged Daniel J. Roman, 50, of Califon, NJ, and Patricio M. Varela, 52, of Annandale, NJ, with simple assault and disorderly conduct following the incident. Both men were processed and released pending a scheduled court date at the Municipal Court.
The filing of charges is merely one step in the criminal justice process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MEDIA RELEASE – January 21, 2026
A 44-year-old Clinton Township female was arrested by the Clinton Township Police Department after filing a false police report on 1/4/26. Police responding to an anonymous allegation of child abuse by residents of a local motel determined that the report was fabricated by another resident. The accuser was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing, where she provided the officer with false pedigree information. Her true identify was revealed to be Nicole L. Zizzamia, and an inquiry revealed she had an NCIC warrant out of Sussex County, and a $1,000 ACS warrant out of Hackensack, NJ.
Ms. Zizzamia was charged with filing a fictional report to a law enforcement officer, two counts of contempt of court, and hindering prosecution. She was provided with a copy of her charges and was transported to the Hunterdon County Jail.
The filing of charges is merely one step in the criminal justice process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MEDIA RELEASE – January 21, 2026
On 12/25/25, a 54-year-old Hampton, NJ, woman was arrested by the Clinton Township Police Department for contempt of court following a trespassing complaint near the Exxon Research property. Officers responding to the complaint observed a gold Ford Escape occupied by a female parked on the property. An inquiry of the vehicle’s registration revealed the registered owner had an outstanding warrant out of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office. The warrant was confirmed, and the driver, Lynda J. Szollosy, was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Hunterdon County Jail without incident.

MEDIA RELEASE – January 21, 2026
A 45-year-old Clinton Township man was arrested by the Clinton Township Police Department following a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation. On 12/27/25, an officer on routine patrol observed the driver of a red Nissan make an improper turn, and a traffic stop was conducted on Route 22 West and Petticoat Lane. An inquiry revealed the front-seat passenger, James K. Olson, had an active ACS warrant for $550 from Somerville Municipal Court. Mr. Olson was placed under arrest for contempt of court and was transported to Headquarters for processing. He was later transferred to the custody of the Somerville Police Department. The driver of the vehicle was issued a warning for the motor vehicle violation and released from the scene.
